MEC Lehari to meet with Mamusa taxi driversThe MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management in the North West, Sello Lehari will on Wednesday, 08 January 2020 meet with taxi drivers in the Mamusa Local Municipality. The MEC’s visit forms part of ongoing intervention in the pressing conflict between taxi associations in the area. MEC Lehari met with the taxi associations in December 2019 and urged them to find an amicable solution through dialogue. “Taxi operators should desist from resolving problems with violence, I encourage them to resolve issues through engagement , negotiation and conflict resolution in order to uphold safety in our communities as they carry out their services,” said MEC Lehari who also assigned a team of law enforcement officers to maintain law and order in the area.
